Titanium mill products are produced from the drawing, forging, and rolling of titanium ingot or slab into products of various sizes and shapes. In the early 1900s, titanium minerals were primarily used in steelmaking for railways and as an arc stabilizer in electric lamps. Although little data is available, domestic consumption of titanium minerals prior to 1920 was less than 2,000 metric tons per year. In 2000, domestic consumption of titanium minerals was about 1.42 million tons. About 95% of titanium mineral concentrates produced are used in TiO2 (titanium dioxide) pigments, while the remainder is used in welding rod coatings and to manufacture metals, carbides, and chemicals.

While titanium mill products are not a new item on the market, affordable titanium mill products have been a hard item to find. With new smelting techniques and mining technologies available, the cost of titanium mill products is going down. Ti-6Al-4V (grade 5) titanium mill products have over 3 times the yield strength of mild steel, making it ideal for producing all manner of items.
